چکیده

Soil is a crucial contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from terrestrial ecosystems the atmosphere. The reduction of GHG in plantation management combating and mitigating global climate change. A 12-month field trial was conducted explore effects different fertilization treatments (control, without fertilizer (CK); biochar-based treatment (BFT); chemical (CFT); mixture 50% BFT CFT (MFT)) on soil typical bamboo (Pleioblastus amarus (Keng) Keng f.) plantation. results demonstrated that compared with CK, reduced annual cumulative N2O emission by 16.3% (p < 0.01), while MFT significantly increased it 31.0% 23.3% respectively. Meanwhile, CH4 uptake 5.8% 0.01) 7.5% respectively, there no statistically significant difference between control. In addition, BFT, CFT, CO2 9.4% 0.05), 13.0% 26.5% 0.01). warming potential (GWP) did not change significantly, GWP 13.7% 0.05) 28.6% Structural equation modeling revealed affected changing labile carbon nitrogen pools. This study suggests utilizing new ideas strategies for soils subtropical Pleioblastus plantations.

Simulated Nitrogen Deposition Reduces CH4 Uptake and Increases N2O Emission from a Subtropical Plantation Forest Soil in Southern China

To date, few studies are conducted to quantify the effects of reduced ammonium (NH4+) and oxidized nitrate (NO3-) on soil CH4 uptake and N2O emission in the subtropical forests. In this study, NH4Cl and NaNO3 fertilizers were applied at three rates: 0, 40 and 120 kg N ha(-1) yr(-1). Soil CH4 and N2O fluxes were determined twice a week using the static chamber technique and gas chromatography. S...

Biochar increases soil N2O emissions produced by nitrification-mediated pathways

*Correspondence: María L. Cayuela, CEBAS-CSIC, Campus Universitario de Espinardo, 30100 Murcia, Spain e-mail: [email protected] In spite of the numerous studies reporting a decrease in soil nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions after biochar amendment, there is still a lack of understanding of the processes involved. Hence the subject remains controversial, with a number of studies showing no cha...

Effects of Biochar Addition on CO2 and N2O Emissions following Fertilizer Application to a Cultivated Grassland Soil

Carbon (C) sequestration potential of biochar should be considered together with emission of greenhouse gases when applied to soils. In this study, we investigated CO2 and N2O emissions following the application of rice husk biochars to cultivated grassland soils and related gas emissions tos oil C and nitrogen (N) dynamics. Treatments included biochar addition (CHAR, NO CHAR) and amendment (CO...

Effects of N Fertilizer Application on Soil N2O Emissions and CH4 Uptake: A Two-Year Study in an Apple Orchard in Eastern China

Land use changes from cropland to orchards in Eastern China have raised serious concerns about the regional nitrogen (N) cycle and greenhouse gas balance. We measured soil nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions and methane (CH4) uptake using manual static chambers in an apple orchard. The primary aims were to assess the effect of N fertilizer application on gas fluxes and quantify the site-specific N2O ...

Typical Soil Redox Processes in Pentachlorophenol Polluted Soil Following Biochar Addition

Reductive dechlorination is the primary pathway for environmental removal of pentachlorophenol (PCP) in soil under anaerobic condition. This process has been verified to be coupled with other soil redox processes of typical biogenic elements such as carbon, iron and sulfur. Meanwhile, biochar has received increasing interest in its potential for remediation of contaminated soil, with the effect...
